The Washington Post is reporting that in the wake of the Virginia victories and Lamar Smith retiring, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has put TX-21 on the target list of districts to flip next year.
The demographics and voting trends of the 21st District match many of the gerrymandered seats Democrats won back from Republicans in Virginia this week. Without the advantage of incumbency, the Republicans are behind the 8-ball on what is looking to be a massive wave election on the horizon. The national party is finally awaking to what we’ve known for months: TX-21 is going to be the most competitive race in Central Texas.
So what does this mean? It means that once we have a Democratic nominee, the DCCC will bring additional resources to help us win TX-21.
I need your help to get there. Please ensure we have a progressive candidate with strong community support to carry this banner to victory next fall by making a quick one-time donation today (even $5 would be a big help!) or by signing up as a Power of 21 supporter.
